Joseph ( Joe) Davidson, 95, Coatesville, died Wednesday evening at Putnam County Hospital. He was born at Hadley on Feb. 15, 1886, the son of James and Ella (Harris) Davidson.

The deceased was married to Mable Ruark in Putnam County on Oct. 22, 1916 and she survives.

Mr. Davidson was a graduate of Central Normal College in Danville. He received his master's degree and an A.B. Degree from DePauw University. Mr. Davidson was a retired schoolteacher, having been an instructor at New Winchester, Fillmore, Patricksburg, Clinton Central, Cartersburg and Coatesville schools.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Lois Ann Johnson, Plainfield; three grandchildren, a niece and a nephew.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wingler Funeral Home, Coatesville. Burial will follow at Coatesville Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Coatesville, Ind – Services for Joe Davidson, 95, a lifelong Coatesville resident, will be held at 2 p.m. today in Winger Funeral Home. He died Wednesday in Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle. He was a retired teacher. During his career he taught at Patricksburg, New Winchester, Filmore and Clinton Center high schools and Coatesville grade schools. A graduate of Central Normal College at Danville, he received his AB and master’s degrees from DePauw University.  He was a member of Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Phi Beta Kappa honorary. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Davidson and a daughter, Lois Ann Johnson. – transcribed by kbz
